I’m healthy
Health is wealth. I want to cherish and love my body and my mind. Stressors will always exist in lives, and I want to manage it and have a healthy relationship with it (anti-fragile).
Motivation: Exercising and the soreness in my legs makes me feel healthy and happy. I love my Saturday morning yoga with Janet Stone and want to keep it going. It gives me a chance to build a safe space and connect with locals. It’s also my reflection and idea lab. Especially after my legs get hurt in BA, I think I want to cherish my body more. I learn about the importance of mental health after my breakups. It was so scary to have bad mental health, and I want to protect my mind too.
Actions Items
Continue meditating in the morning every day
Continue exercise three times a week (can include yoga) — fixed time
Continue yoga practice at least once a week
I’m an explorer
Life is not only about intellectual and career growth, but also about exploring the world. I want to explore different dimensions of my life. Have fun!
Motivation: During Meta time, I had a good work-life balance. I start doing yoga, studying big tech in ethics, and going to parties. I was so happy even during visa waiting time. In Argentina, I went to bachata classes and gradually felt more comfortable with sensual and sexual stuff. Also, it felt so rewarding (a guilty learning pleasure)to learn Spanish and celebrate the world cup. Being with TingTing and Rena (because of their lifestyle/anti-capitalist/exploration of dating) expanded my view on life too. Why are we so busy? Do I want to always be busy/stressed for the rest of my life? I think the world has overemphasized career and intellectual development, I would love to have more time just exploring and learning from surprises along the way. There is still so much more I want to see in the world.
Action items
Continue morning 30 min self-learning or writing during weekday
Finish my current Lingoda credits
If I don’t get a job in the US, I want to have a gap period. Working on my project, and live in a foreign country (India does yoga, Argentina bachata).
I work with commitment
Focus on what I love, and work with momentum.
Motivation: During Meta and capstone, I realize constantly focusing on one thing, and doing it every day gives me fulfillment and happiness. Going through Meta and capstone, I learned that doing what I love with autonomy created a lot of happiness which is very different compared with going to Minerva classes (privileged complaint still). Though I encountered many bottlenecks in capstone, I love that the work is always on my mind. This year, I would love to continue having committed work and create opportunities to find them. Also, I want to try out some engineering work because doing Meta engineering is so fun.
Create a fun and sustainable job application plan (eg airline, NYC, start to apply when the temperature is below 25) that can be executed on a weekly based
Prepare for the Palantir application
Have one-weekend project
A 30-day sprint for a project (e.g. can be capstone)
I practice romance
Practice to maintain good mental health regardless of in a relationship or processing breakups.
Motivation: I was torn throughout my last breakup. The problem is I overestimate my mental capacity and handle too much stress by myself. This time I want to have a better monitoring system, know when to invest, and when to set boundaries. In addition, I want to practice striking a balance between my romantic relationships and other aspects of time. I believe valuing my own personal independence and boundaries are the keys to staying healthy.
Weekly emotion rating and how I feel in my romantic relationships if a partner exists.
Weekly one independency activity (self-time, self-travel, tech Shabbat)
(Others) Continue hosting town hall meetings whenever I encounter a crisis
I share love
Take love as an action for people around me. Remember como estas before the business.
Motivation: Jade always takes time to appreciate people and show her love. Though it feels cringe in the beginning, it fosters a positive relationship. In my daily life, I sometimes go straight to the topic without taking care of people or appreciating them, but Argentinians will always ask Como Estas before starting anything. I want to cultivate appreciation and show love and care as a habit.
Choose a friend/family a month to show appreciation in any form you like. (drawing, calling, writing)
Implement 1 idea a month to show love to my partner if a partner exists.
