I’m happy to tell you that my writing, AI & Esther, is on local Taiwanese news!
Though I don’t know why they didn’t put my drawing up there (I think the post completely lost its personality), I’m still quite happy and would love to share my happiness with you!
I would love to share about my learning on writing so far.
I Don’t care about audience growth
I cannot write freely when I start to think about how to please people (aka how to gain more audience), because the writing experience becomes stressful. So I made a vow with my friend, Phuong, that I would not care about audiences at all at least till the end of this year. The reason for writing is to have fun, feel funny, and think deeply about my learning.
One Loyal Reader is Enough
Since I don’t really care about the audience, how do I imagine why I am writing and who I am writing for?
Well, I have one loyal reader, Trang. I ranked her as the top loyal reader because she would complain if I didn’t post, and tell me when she likes a post. That’s really kept me going till now! She is also one of my fun friends, so it’s really easy to imagine the fun tone I want to write about.
So whenever I was thinking “Maybe I will not write today. No one read it anyway.” I will still write because I don’t want to disappoint my loyal reader. Over time, I learned that one reader is more than enough to feel supported to write consistently (It’s been 4 months now!).
If My Writing Become Too Serious, There Must be Something Wrong with Me.
As the people keep coming in, I cannot help but check the numbers. I recognized this habit might be inevitable. BUT, if it makes my writing an old granny bragging about things like “10 Reasons Why You Should Work at Amazon,” or “How you should talk to recruiter” there must be something wrong with me!
If you see one day I write like a successful bitch who wants “teach” you something, I might be sad or desperate and please take care of me.🥺
